Text Box: FISHMARKET & OXEN COVE DEVELOPMENTS —”A giant step forward!”
Even though news about this has been rather scant of late you will be interested to know that things are progressing behind the scenes. Construction of the new fish market and with it the new slipway, quay wall and berthing facilities for Brixham Yacht Club took a giant step forward with the announcement recently that Torbay Council have chosen Dean & Dyball as their preferred Contractor to carry out the works. A very experienced Contractor in the field of marine construction Dean & Dyball are particularly well known for their work in Southampton Water where they built Shamrock Quay and Ocean Marina Village. Construction is scheduled to start in October this year.
In anticipation of this date negotiations with the Council for the exchange of land and agreement on the new 99 year lease are at an advanced stage with just a few minor details to tie up. We are now confident of a satisfactory outcome. The proposed October start should mean that most of the work affecting the Club and provision of the new facilities should have been completed in time for the 2008 season.

Club calendar of events.

It was recently suggested that  a single calendar of all BYC events would be a useful tool to help everyone with their planning. That is why we have produced the insert contained in this Mainsheet. For the first time you can find everything that is happening between now & December all in one place!

SUNDAYS at BYC

Don’t forget that the club is open every Sunday evening during the summer! Where better for a quiet evening drink?
