    Fred Farmer

Fred's been an active member of the Yacht Club since arriving in Brixham some 32 years ago when he worked for Barclays Bank. During the 30 years he worked for Barclays he'd built up quite an amount of financial experience and knowledge which he is now able to contribute to the running of our Club. He 'escaped' Barclays some 17 years ago and became a professional yacht and motor boat skipper as well as an RYA instructor. As an enthusiastic sailor he's managed to sail around the British Isles a number of times and has also managed a few journeys further afield down to Portugal and across the Mediterranean. More locally he is a regular competitor in our club racing using his boat Spirited Away with our Commodore Terry as crew. He was appointed as a Director of the Club at the last full AGM and is happy to carry on as a Director for the next year overseeing our enthusiastic water activities teams.

    Ian Scott

Ian started life as a Radio Officer in the Merchant Navy after obtaining a degree in Electronics & Radar. Since then he has worked for a large American Computer firm, fixing all sizes of Computers and managing Global Partners for the last 45 years.

Born in Brixham, he has been involved with the Yacht Club since 1964. His father served twice as Commodore. He can often be found at the point on Sundays, Committee boat on Summer Mondays and Thursday Shuttling, plus of course laying the marks on Championship events....never a dull moment.

Ian currently looks after the Secretarial and Facilities side of the Club and has an excellent team of volunteers who help in all manner of activities.

    Richard Spreckley

    Richard Spreckley

Richard looks after the club's finances and has been our treasurer/finance director for a cumulative 7 years under 4 different commodores.

Richard was the finance director of a Somerset District Council for 10 years, before being a delivery skipper for 7 years, racking up about 35,000 sea miles. His introduction to Brixham was as a competitor (3 times) in the Brixham Santander 2-handed bi-annual yacht race, and has completed 2-handed Round Britain, and the Azores and back (AZAB) races.

He currently fiddles about on a Trapper 300 called Scrapper, or if it's warm, out on his Laser.
