    Racing Many of the skippers who ventured out at around 17:30 Thursday evening for the Yacht Racing were anticipating somewhat of a "drift" around a short course based on a forecast of winds of 5 to 6 knots at best.     Yacht Race Thursday Series 1 Race 3 Under clear blue skies, Thursday evening yacht racing was finally able to get under way last week with 12 boats setting out for what would be the first event using split fleets and the return of IRC rated boats.     Updated Opening Hours

    The Club has partially re-opened on April 12th in accordance with the National Covid-19 Coronavirus lockdown easing. Service will be takeaway for food and drink from the disabled entrance door on the "Quarter Deck". The opening times have been revised from 23rd April.     Changing Facilities Update

    The changing rooms will now be available on Monday evenings!! (but NOT SHOWERS). Strictly no more than 3 people at any one time and you must wipe down any touch points immediately after use (spray and wipes will be available). If you can still arrive already changed that would still be appreciated to avoid congestion before sailing but everyone can get changed and warm ready for the post-sail grub and drinks in "The

    Shuttle Service

    The summer 'Shuttle' yacht taxi service has resumed and will operate on Thursday evenings to support the Yacht racing plus for four weekend sessions from 09:00 to 13:00 and 13:00 to 16:00 on Saturday and Sunday. Call on VHF channel 37 (M1) for service. Please volunteer as helm if you can (PB2 required) using the Duty Roster. Without your support this valuable service cannot operate.

    Another Dinghy False Start The start of the official dinghy racing was postponed for another week due to the delayed crane in of yachts from the crowded compound.     "Freedom Race"

    With the Step 1 relaxation of the coronavirus restrictions allowing organised outdoor sporting activity to resume the "Freedom Race" was enthusiastically attended by 6 yachts braving the anticipated cold conditions in an attempt to conclude the curtailed winter racing series.
