Latest Government Guidelines from Wednesday 2nd December 2020 |
Dear Members As you are all aware the Club has been closed since 2nd November due to the Covid-19 Pandemic and Government lockdown restrictions. The latest update from the Government, as of 26thNovember 2020, is that Devon has been placed in Tier 2 (High). In Tier 2 you cannot socialise indoors anywhere, with anyone you do not live with, or who is not in your support bubble. Pubs and bars can only open if they serve substantial meals. Alcohol can be served with the meal. Unfortunately, you are unable to visit just for a drink. This is to be reviewed by the Government on 16th December. Brixham Yacht Club intends to open its doors once again for members on Wednesday 2ndDecember at 1200hrs. In March this year the Club went into a 3-month lockdown, re-opening on 4th July. Since then you, the members, have been fantastic in supporting your Club. As we head towards Christmas may I ask you all to please continue to support us whenever you can. The Club will be open 7 days a week. Under the new guidelines you must pre-book a table for a meal and remember you cannot socialise with anyone outside your household support bubble. The staff will be in on Monday & Tuesday next week preparing and cleaning so if you would like to support the Club on the first day of opening please ring the bar on 01803-853332. We will be putting Christmas decorations up before we re-open on 2nd December to welcome you all back. Our chef will be providing a variety of lunch and evening menus to tempt you throughout December, including special Christmas lunches on Sunday 13th & 20th. The AGM will go ahead as planned on Friday 11th December via Zoom. Don't forget if you have not voted yet, votes must be in by 17:00 on the 9th December. We are not sure what the future holds, however, with the vaccines about to be available as early as January, there is light at the end of the tunnel, and hopefully we can all move forward into calmer waters and look forward to the spring flowers and safer times. It is vital for the survival of the Club that we all continue to remain as members and encourage new members to join as we head into 2021. Subscriptions are due from 1st January after the New Year's Eve festivities. Thank you for your support through these difficult times. Kindest Regards Terry Commodore. |
