Launch & Recovery Authorisation

AUTHORISATION PROCESS to Launch/Recover Club Boats on road trailer.

This process is being introduced during 2023 to establish a bank of authorised BYC Members to help develop dinghy sailing & racing at the Club, by being able to launch & recover ribs & other boats that need to be on a road trailer. Additionally, it is required as the access is classed as a public highway.

It applies to all Club boats that are launched from a road trailer. Members who have been undertaking this up to now are also asked to respond with the details required, so that the authorised list can be fully completed.

The authorisation will be shown as a Tag on the Member's contact details on the BYC website SCM system, using the following criteria, which use licence start dates to determine the authorisations for vehicle & trailer loads:

Launch A
Licence column 10 date before 1 January 1997 (B or BE licence). Also Club tractor (F or f licence).

Launch B
Column 10 date before 1 January 1997 (B or BE licence). Not authorised to use the Club tractor

Launch C

Launch F
