Following a disappointing postponement in July due to the low number of entries, it was an impressive fleet of 25 vessels that gathered close to the centre of Brixham Yacht Clubs marked race course for the now-annual 2-Stones Race kindly sponsored by Brixham Gin. Dear Members, As you will all be aware, we have been obliged to close the bar and restaurant, due to staff being obliged to self isolate, and will be closed on Monday 19 th , which was ironically once known as "Freedom Day". Wednesday 23rd June marked the first BYC-organised gathering of 'paddlers' ready to take part in a 'paddle in company' from the slipway. Two dozen bodies went afloat in a mix of Stand-up Paddle Boards and single/double kayaks and headed over to Fishcombe Cove on a very pleasant evening with only a hint of fresher breeze to make the paddle back to the Club more of a challenge. From 1st June the Club will be operating extended opening hours for the Summer months. The times can be found here in the "Ashore" section. Also, the very old wooden steps from the Quarterdeck to the Holman room are being replaced sometime next week. It should only take a couple of days but unfortunately we will have to close the quarterdeck during the day while they are working and welding
